Can confirm. I was very tempted to drop out of university when I was making lots of money from Flash games. But even my sponsors at Kongregate were honest enough to tell me NOT to rely on video game income. Today I wouldn't trust anyone who says otherwise.

Things also change pretty fast. Plenty of devs who made good money in the past are not now. Nothing is guaranteed and past success does not mean future success (though it can help for sure e.g. making Epic deals)

yup exactly, there are also trends. One day it's all about F2P, the next year about survival games, etc. And if you don't adapt quickly, you're out!
