after the typo-police (people pointing out a few typos in a 250,000 words script like if was the worst thing ever), a new force has risen: the background-police! They spot re-used backgrounds in your games and will never forget, never forgive you for that

I do think fixing typos or confusing English is important. It makes your final product more polished. Granted, even triple A titles usually have a couple in hundreds of thousands of words and that amount is definitely acceptable and doesn't take away from the finished product.

Indeed. They are paying you so they can do the work of an editor, which we pay dearly for (and are happy to because a second and third set of eyes go a long way to making the game look good; it's jarring when you have to read a sentence multiple times because it's unintelligible)

thing is, I have an editor but there are STILL typos :D For a game I had TWO editors look at the script, and there were still typos. At one point you have to spend money where the game can be really better (CG, music, etc).

My point was more that "typo-police" are pointing out things which are easy to fix but only when caught and happen to everybody and it seems (to me at least) like you find the mention of these things as a bad thing rather than an opportunity to make an in-progress game better.

I'm not saying kiss their ass but it's something that is simple to fix and easy to queue up into the next build. I don't know how most people respond but I would expect the people who already dropped money on the beta probably are just trying to be helpful. But what do I know.

indeed my tweet was joking. That's why I used funny terms like "typo police" and smileys all over them :D I always fix the typos reports I get and I'm grateful to anyone pointing them out of course! Sorry if gave the wrong impression :)
