has been like that since a while - if you don't codesign your app, users will need to manually open them. It's annoying but still works. But if you're using itchio/Steam launcher is not needed anyway :P

Yeah last I looked at it was that you needed to run codesign with a certificate. But if you don't do it, even if you can run it anyway it seems to be really slow to boot up.

I don't own a Mac anymore but yes, you should be able to still boot it up even if for the average user is a big pain in the ass. But launching the exe from a client will still work (Steam, itchio).

for my last RPG sold directly through itchio, ALL support issues were on Mac. They had trouble starting the app. I told them to use itchio launcher and solved all their problems
