I'm thinking of course about top quality 3d art like the Daz3d models. Some examples:pic.twitter.com/1WjwNd5V2R

I know the answer of 90% of my fans/followers but was wondering, what do you think of using pre-rendered 3d character art in a game? and if that meant much more art in general?

note that *personally speaking* I find hand-drawn manga art much better than 3d models, even if recently the 3d stuff made a lot of improvements, and obviously is much easier to do art in 3d once you got the model right (doing 50 CG wouldn't be a problem at all lol)
Depends on the quality. Even something like Goblin Slayer is catching flak for its 3D models not always being up to par and that's a big hit anime. I think you'd have to do it carefully and ensure that you don't compromise the quality.
I just posted some examples :)
Voted yes. If stylised, it can look superb, but the more realistic it looks, the more lacking it is when the characters don’t fully animate.
I don't understand, you talk about 3d? or manga? because yes meant you like to use 3d character :P
Personally I'm indifferent. I do love 2D art, but I can see 3D models working alright too. I'd have to see them in action of course.
3D models allow to save a lot of time of course, while also keeping a nice quality to the overall game. However my next project will feature hand-draw characters, since they fit better with the overall setting. That's also something to bear in mind.
I think with 3d is easy to fall into the "uncanny valley" effect :P
I don't think that such 3d character art is suitable for your games. Maybe, maybe with manga style 3d art - but need to see good examples first. But anyways VN games manage to "cheat" with their art, reusing many models with small changes (cloths, expressions).
indeed I don't like them myself either :P
