measured my different PC speeds. Using Ren'Py reload script at same point: i5 4670 = 6.2 seconds i7 8700 = 4.9 seconds so a gain of 1.3 seconds... even if I reloaded the script 1000 times not a worthwhile gain (not worth the hassle of moving everything on new PC for now)
well no is a big difference if you think about it. The shorter the time, harder to get improvements. I tried to re-encode a 4k video with 265 and the i7 was like 4-5 times faster, saving hours :P

Ah, yeah, I sort of knew that. I was just referring to how Ren'Py doesn't have much of a difference in load times, although that makes me wonder about more complicated Ren'Py games but... I don't think I've ever heard of one that complicated?

this is only during development - when games are published you don't need to reload the script, you just use "precompiled script" so speed is much faster :)
