one of the most common thing I heard from indies is "even if a game is good it won't sell if nobody knows about it." thing is: "if a game is good, people WILL know about it." People greatly underestimate word of mouth power.

It helps you're in such a niche market. The audience is more starved and actively search out the sort of games they want. If you're doing something more experimental, there's less chance people will make blind buys.

with the refund system, youtube, etc I don't think people make many blind buys. Depends also on price of course and other factors.
