this doesn't mean you don't need to do any marketing/PR! BUT, making a good game is #1 priority to be successful in MOST cases (there can be exceptions of course)

I noticed this myself, having made many games of same niche/genre. I never did any special promotion for any of them and yet some sell 4-5 or even 10x times more than others. Why? Because are good/better targeted to the market, and people spread the word. Simple as that!

good means that most people in that target market will like it, but also means general polishing and that's easy to spot even in a VN
