I have to think it's either children or completely oblivious people. I'm sure most of us are willing to pay more for a game we like. To me 20 USD is a very acceptable price unless your game is very simple and/or short.

When A Hat In Time was first on Greenlight it was going to be a cheap little game so they would get votes. I told them not to devalue their game and charge what it's worth. Now it's a terrific $30 game and I like to think I had some part in it's success.

Same reason why I feel angry when I see bad reviews of mobile games just because people don't want to wait for "energy" but don't want to pay. How else will producers/developers make money otherwise?

I think people think indie Dev means short or simple games. A lot of these people don't realize the work that is needed to make these games.

This just happened to me with my latest game.
Apparently I'm greedy for not releasing the game I've made for almost two years now, for free! they told me I should've given it away for free so I can "break into" the industry... I've been an indie for 10+ years now...

VN devs need more confidence with the value and quality of their games. Agent of Love is our first game and I’ve read so many posts recommending first games to be free. It’s authentic original work writers, artists programmers have worked hard on. “Exposure” won’t feed you lol
