I now have the ability to set an arbitrary rewind point in the game… THEN RELOAD FROM IT! I feel like I’ve gone mad with power, having spent an entire god damned week implementing a feature I had as an engine built-in in my old engine
now you only have to implement rollback (not with a save, code reverting to previous states) and you're good to go!

Yeah, that’s what I mean—currently I’m using it to restart a fight after a game over. (I don’t know if I’ll do player-controlled rollback in conversations… given how few players even know that EXISTS.)

yes I have that in my RPGs too, but for me the absolute best thing of Ren'Py is: 1) find a bug 2) rollback to previous step 3) fix the code and shift+R 4) go on like normal :D
