I give the txt file to a few peeps to read but my games are linear so maybe that's quite easy...?

I constantly get it tested, mainly for gameplay, but will also tweak, alter, add to the story should anything become apparent.

In my case I have my Japanese ver. editor to check and suggest me to add more episodes/ change some scenes which might irritate people and make the whole game better. I don't want to ask too much people's opinion since it will confuse me instead.

I think having a couple people read through in case something is coming off WAY different than I intended is useful.

We do run closed betas where chosen fans and pre-order owners get to play the earlier stages of the game. It's mostly for general feedback and bugs. Large story changes are something we decide on ourselves.

Second this. Beta testingis very important. Generally, people don’t feedback on the story too much but will improve typos, bugs, continuity issues, let you know if they felt lost or confused etc.

I had a couple of people giving me feedback before I finalized stuff. They are usually very helpful.
