time for another poll for my own curiosity! how much impact has the Steam review score when purchasing a game? if the score is in the "mixed" range do you even bother checking it out?
for the record, personally if it's mixed I don't even click on the game page... unless the kind of game/theme/topic particularly interests me

there's so many games out there I'm not sure why i'd even be SEEING the game unless it was something I was particularly interested in. :)

that's a good point. However on Steam search the ones with highest review shows up higher, so if you look for a yuri game or something, the chances increases as the review score increases. As result it's much more convenient to make short games and sell them cheap

OTOH in general I sometimes fish the games-on-sale-this-week deliberately looking for games with bad reviews, just to read the reviews and try to figure out what sets players off.
