just replied to a long negative review of #CursedLands on itchio
Let me get something straight: as indie author you have to accept that some people like your games, others don't.
what I don't accept is when they say I put no passion/effort and I just wanted to make quick money.

because believe me, IF I wanted to make quick money I would do one of those porn-VN with 50k words of plot and characters with zero personality... NOT a 300k words branching RPG that kept me busy for 9 months!!!

then of course you as player are free to say that it sucks, and that you liked more other games. That's fine, it's normal. But it's when players start to assume us author only care about money, that's where I get offended, sorry

and lastly, a game doesn't make money if sucks. People underestimate word of mouth which is the biggest marketing tool. Whenever I made a game that had poor writing/art, it didn't sell well - simple as that

OK so that person explained and he/she didn't mean I was putting no effort :) more like I was too focused on the gameplay in the RPG and not enough in the story. It's true that the RPG part takes a lot of time... hopefully for #PlanetStronghold2 will be different
