just replied to a long negative review of #CursedLands on itchio
Let me get something straight: as indie author you have to accept that some people like your games, others don't.
what I don't accept is when they say I put no passion/effort and I just wanted to make quick money.

then of course you as player are free to say that it sucks, and that you liked more other games. That's fine, it's normal. But it's when players start to assume us author only care about money, that's where I get offended, sorry

and lastly, a game doesn't make money if sucks. People underestimate word of mouth which is the biggest marketing tool. Whenever I made a game that had poor writing/art, it didn't sell well - simple as that

OK so that person explained and he/she didn't mean I was putting no effort :) more like I was too focused on the gameplay in the RPG and not enough in the story. It's true that the RPG part takes a lot of time... hopefully for

Also worth remembering: saying something is "lazy" is, ironically, the lazy man's way of saying "I didn't like this" without justifying their opinion. Don't take it to heart. I'm sure you don't! :)

well no in this case the person wrote a LONG essay explaining why he/she didn't like it. But ended up with something like "I put no passion / effort" which is what I don't accept, especially in this case :)

nothing wrong about doing those games or people who like them, but that's what I would be doing if all I was interested in was quick money :P
