Anti-pattern:
- User makes a mistake. Framework doesn't run any checks.
- Deploy. Long deployment time.
- After deployment, mistake causes runtime error.
- Error message is obscure.
You'll need a while to run through another iteration of this loop. Good luck debugging...

Really great explanation of the Umbral Calculus. Best "what is it" I have seen. Bits of the Umbral Calculus get re-discovered, but much clearer in this presentation

My jaw actually dropped.
showed 3 examples of black doctors/nurses where Google’s Vision AI rated the image as 70%+ “Street Fashion” despite them literally wearing scrubs
When he painted the nurses white, it switched to “Formal wear”
Truly unbelievable

Zuck says he is "turning up the heat" on poor performers. Classic downward spiral:
Creates a climate of fear
Stigmatizes any employee who leaves for any reason now
Drives away top job candidates
Zuck's team caused 's problems, not weak underlings

The only downside of this trend has been having to put up with all the shrill whining on twitter from Very Important Men who have tied their sense of self-worth to being "at the office".

Biggest permanent change due to the pandemic is remote work:
Office occupancy still down by more than 50% (!) and the return to office trend is starting to plateau

Say you will not listen to me because I have always hated Putin, but if you will not listen to Zelenskyy, it's your own conscience you are silencing. This is a great test for us all, not only Ukraine, and right now we are failing it.

Taking a break to work out the probability of winning a tournament. The article can be found here: github.com/WinVector/Exam (Some Math Inspired by Losing in Elden Ring). It is a variation on a "persuasion by calculation of examples" teachingstyle I am working on.

Visual Studio Code peeps. How does one develop Python packages using Visual Studio Code? My blocker is: how do I add the source directory to the environment so I can run code against package source instead of having to build the package just to debug?

Bad designs composing. In a network disruption, many routers serve a web page saying so. They do this by imitating any URL/target, essentially a man in the middle attack or hijack. Many apps (ex Apple mail) to "defend" against this by requiring re-entry of account passwords. Ick.
