I am told this is the first residential Tesla Powerpack install. 480V/232kWh->75kVaY/208V(house) charged by 28kW solar panels (5x15) in a private micro-grid setup(100% disconnected). Been running 100% flawlessly since jumpstart a month ago. Thanks @elonmusk I love it.pic.twitter.com/Y5EcBbNUeg

I’ve been wondering for awhile, why not have solar panels cover the battery (ies) to protect them from hot sun? Not an expert by any means on batteries but....???

Yeah but like I responded in elsewhere, I would have to pay PGE pretty much the same to get the power line to my lot(underground) and then I'd still want backup/solar which would come out even higher.
