I promised to end mass incarceration. In 2020 we resentenced nearly 40 people who served decades in state prison. Overall, San Francisco's prison population fell by ~25%, and the jail population fell by ~40%. We are working to expand reentry planning to drive down recidivism.

I don't support mass incarceration. But our crime rate IS way up and you let someone go who killed two people. And furthermore, you have not taken responsibility for that.

Not only did Boudin refuse to charge Troy McAlister for any of his 5 new crimes this year - before killing the pedestrians, that is - it was Boudin who cut the plea deal to get McAlister out of jail.
