If we’re serious about racial equity in SF, we cannot cut frontline staff at critical offices like the Public Defender — the one point of defense against a well-oiled incarceration machine. The Public Defender must remain fully staffed and fully funded. @sfdefender @VoteManoSF

Any “defunding” of the police certainly isn’t immediate. The public defender is responsible for something like 90% (or more) of the defendants at HOJ. I work for the court in a felony preliminary department, and trust me: they work tirelessly and their budget shouldn’t be slashed
