Yeah, we instilled in to the citizens when it was a UK colony that freedom and democracy matter and should not be taken away.

How Ironic. The majority of the HK Chinese want the UK system of government back, without a superstate telling them what to do. Here in the UK an increasingly bizarre but vocal minority want to reject the UK system of government in the UK in favour of being ruled by Brussels.
