    Federally, C&R status applies to arms more than fifty years old, while antiques must be made before 1898, or use pre-modern ammunition. SB 70 requires C&R weapons to be more than 50 years old AND use pre-modern ammunition, excluding most popular C&R guns.

    SB 70, Virginia's proposed universal background check bill, includes an exemption for Curios and Relics. Unfortunately, it combines Federal C&R and Antique definitions to create an extremely limited C&R category.

    The "reduces distribution" aspect of FB's fact checking creates a political hot-potato. It would be foolish of FB to empower third-parties to tank the ad-spends of politicians poised to regulate them, while dropping the distribution policy would invite charges of toothlessness.

    Among other things, this fundamentally misstates Facebook’s own policy toward fact-checking. FB has never done its own fact-checking; it has outsourced that role to journalistic orgs and empowered them to tag posts as false. Facebook then reduces distribution of that content

    Not a good piece. Unclear how taxing targeted advertising, eg a Yelp or Google Maps advert for a pizzeria when you do a search for nearby restaurants, is supposed to curb "dangerous misinformation and hate speech".
