    Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas. I am approaching this with anthropological precision. Here are a few observations.

    On regional humour: "The Arab world has different components, different occupations. The national boundaries exist for a reason, there's different social preoccupations, and it's so visceral in a way that makes it harder to translate" humour from one country to another.
