Facebook is banning news in Australia. Users will no longer be allowed to post articles. Publishers will no longer be allowed to post at all. Any idea if FB or AUS considered allowing links *without* headlines, preview text, and extracted images? IOW, letting users link to AUS news using their own link text and removing the automated feed item previews FB inserts when a user pastes a link might satisfy both sides.
or just put in the text of the link without the "http" prefix so that it doesn't get interpreted as a link, and the user can then just cut/paste into a browser.
Facebook has always been at war with Australasia.
Good. "News" on facebook, typically isn't. When you've got that many bad apples, better to throw out the bunch

This seems like a good thing. I wish it was that way in the US, considering FB is a cesspool of disinformation.
