@newscienceorg ? Could “competitive pressure” from them force grant commitees to wake up
new science is good-- would have to be 1b times the $ to be a competitive pressure unfortunately-- but very good in the abstract

I think you underrate the potential impact of improving the discourse + even showing the possibility of alternatives. In my time in academia, the idea of exploring new paths for research & funding was mostly just dismissed as biohackers or pseudoscience.

Meanwhile many of the best professors were aggressively trying to switch their funding to philanthropists and VCs, but this was never very visible or discussed.
