if i had a billion dollars and wanted to speed up scientific progress-- i'd be building a new model for scientific publishing building and rolling up scientific journals to improve incentives around publishing is an order of magnitude improvement resting in a low hanging fruit

1/2 You can email authors for preprints from a .edu email and they'll usually share (most papers never read, despite h-index games) but what you can't do yet is SUBSCRIBE to great labs or investigators Imagine paying some crypto to the Reich lab or Yann LeCun to Do Cool Stuff https://twitter.com/oneseventwonine/status/1408306063523287041 …

Research as a Service - why not? plenty of it can create products outright, but mostly I would like to be able to just buy the future coming a bit soonerhttps://twitter.com/lndian_Bronson/status/1408308842962763776 …

2/2 Sure, mat sci engineering or clinical research requires lots and lots of money/institutional approvals. You probably can't fund the development of newstuffmycin But LOADS of impactful genomics & AI research is just the cost of making really talented peoples' time worthwhile

are you kidding? This can be done for < $1M. I wrote a whitepaper on it for a group in 2017. the only delay is everyone is trying to figure out a new form of rent seeking to shoehorn in

didn't mean this to be offensive like it reads. I applaud you working on this problem and think it can be solved without a big budget
