Oh geez I worked on code generation and if I knew how to do research on solving collective epistemology I would be doing that instead. Open to discussing possible avenues but seems like a much more complex problem.

Do you not think the man makes a valid point (language models are beneficial in accordance to the degree of boilerplate-y-ness of the code to be programmed, and our tooling can contribute to norms that increase this tendency to boilerplate-y-ness, which is a means of stagnation)?

abstraction is useful and probably shouldn’t be taken as a lack of originality. Languages exist for a reason, and we are just moving up the stack from less complex to more complex primitives
