That’s a cute take, but if you look at the entirety of the literature on this subject, being a smoker is *way* worse for your health than being overweight. But I appreciate the second-order thinking

to clarify, both lead to bad health outcomes, smoking almost decidedly more so. the point here is if you did a factor analysis of things driving obesity rates, smoking bans would be higher than almost anyone would guess and the outcomes gap smaller.
