In some ways anonymity helps via facilitating a wider range of intellectual enquiry, however I feel it also can facilitate what is often the antithesis of truly beneficial enquiry, that antithesis being certain immoral or unethical tendencies.

Anonymity allows people to feel safe discussing issues which are controversial, and which they therefore might not feel comfortable discussing without anonymity, however it can also make people ignore or forget ethical principles, which I believe are important re academic enquiry

I often take the view that people who use big words, so to speak, may be doing us a favour in respect of future scenarios when we may actually need to know what one or more of those words mean, and there isn't time to Google, etc. Have a great day ppl
