I hope so and I think so too, but the big blocker is going to be scaling the # of good founders for bio companies…my ~contrarian take~ is that most bio founders just aren’t great relative to tech founders. probs cause academia excellence is nearly opposite of startup excellence
idk i really do think six months, the kolchinsky pdf, and some stimulants can do a lot for someone

Are there more recently written addendums to the Kolchinsky guide that you'd point someone to? Everything in there seems totally relevant but are there other layers of relevance stacked on top since it was published (ex. how computational approaches changes GTM strategy)?

we ran this experiment at LF - there is a lot of mentalities that need to untrained out of academics (usually) to be good start up founders. a number of the people we worked with got there, but took ~1.5 years. anecdotally, thats the approx time it took for me too

any suggestions for how one can develop a 'startup mentality' while in academia/grad school, so they ideally don't have to untrain (as much) once they join industry? :)
