Figma seems ok but I haven't used it much. Monaco / VSCode also seems ok. I feel like there are some techniques like just not relying on the DOM that much, running stuff off-thread (although now I'm thinking about the contrast drawn in this slide, too https://twitter.com/rsnous/status/1150964667000340480 …)
