Would personally like to continue working on deep structured prediction without signing up for Neuro-Symbolic AI. It seems interesting, but all three of those words are intensely loaded...

That's fair. Maybe it is a matter of degree... I will defend "natural language processing" which is extremely descriptive and dull. Not sure what connotation of "processing" it is using, or whether that exists in contemporary english.
natural language processing is such a uniquely beautiful name as it really doesn't say anything about outcome, input, or method. its like if all of DL was called "slightly better matrix solving" and i think that's beautiful
