Soviet education system gave a lot of data on this. Seems intense early life training leads to wildly Pareto distrusted outcomes and weird tail risk late in life. Probably works if you have a portfolio approach to your children, less clear otherwise lmao.

I always thought soviet style education made linear assumptions about growth. Ie we start promising people on an advanced path 5 years ahead of mean top performers then when it comes to peak competition years they’re 5 years ahead.
