      Thought: it might be better to work at a larger company, which is an acquirer of startups, than a startup itself if you want to be good at VC. - better understanding of what gaps larger players are trying to fill - better understanding of how they think about M&A

      This is probably true in biopharma where creation, acquisition, and cycling are all handled on the fund side. I don’t think this is true for enterprise

      I think it can be in enterprise. Can't think of a better place to start enterprise investing than Cisco.

      AFAIK this is a small part of the founding thesis of toba capital. The best saas investors are former saas execs and vice versa
