The surprising thing is that in the US the answer is basically nothing despite the real effectiveness of that surveillance. 9/11 got us security theater, mass surveillance, torture, black sites, and suspension of civil liberties for a questionable cost/benefit.
I do wonder what civil liberty will be eroded by this pandemic. 9/11 was flights in exchange for perceived safety? Is this public sharing of biometric data? Real time location tracking? AA refusing to let you wear an effective mask? The lamest of all LARPs
