I came across a site that is either an elaborate AI project, a scam, or both: http://swaymass.com At first glance, it seems like a normal, boring company. But you dig a little, and things get weird. What's the purpose of going to such great lengths for a fake company?
There’s some fascinating version of this where its Borge’s Tlon but instead of planting a single fake country in a single encyclopedia, It’s orchestrating a farm of GPT3 & GAN -> wordpress scripts to create paper companies across the internet at industrial scale.
But to what end? Scam people out of money? Or to prove that their copy is good enough to fool the average Joe and then sell AI copy as a service?
