My feed is filled with “moving to x country”. Same stuff from a few weeks ago about CA and wildfires. Your state and country is not a freakin AirBnB to leave a one star review and move on. Toughen up, help fix this shit!

The most toxic part of modern individualism is the idea that you are so removed from your community that the world is a rotation of places you can chose to live in, not a set of communities you have an innate part in bettering

Not everyone views their country or neighborhood as their community---many have other communities they are a part of and feel bound to. There have been mobile communities willing to flee for thousands of years, for example the Jewish diaspora

I was taught growing up to get a highly mobile, irreplaceable job so that if I needed to leave the country like most of my ancestors, I could safely do so
