One thing I do in all creative ventures (that I think @djacslater taught me ages ago) is spend time a day or so before I want to be creative just preparing my workspace/tools so the next day I can come in and FLOW not spend that energy troubleshooting the tools I want to use.
always helps me to organize my tools at the end of really good sessions so I come back to a work station that is how me at my best would want to use it
