It never ceases to amaze me how strong and slow decaying venture firm brands are.
what's fascinating is how the "breaking point" moments are entirely emergent/unplanned. even if everyone on the inside knows that things are in decay, the rapid partner shedding are relatively tightly clustered and not at all coordinated.

I'd debate "not at all coordinated" tbh. Everyone on the inside knows when conversations are happening around promotions, carry, next fund, etc. and also knows who is in good standing/untouchable vs. not.

Aren’t the ones with the most / best options (either going to make partner / get more carry OR start own firm / join new top tier) the most likely to leave though?
