How can it be any other way when you need returns in a timeframe of 5-10y and most bio products take a good few years to get to market due to refulation AFTER a product has been developed?
so much of tech venture’s investment in bio over the past decade has been working on what’s computationally tractable, rather than what’s biologically interesting. this seems to be the year the tide is turning
