calculus is actually pretty incredible and literally everything converges on derivatives - econ stat cs, you take any upper div course and its all the exact same concept lol

Stats education isn’t a silver bullet obviously, but this is a bit of a reductive take on something that would honestly help a lot. Being well informed is critical for democracy, and everything is numbers now. Even better understanding of basic stuff like margin of error is huge.

I mean just looking at the number of media outlets that lack any sense of how to report stats/scientific results, or the number of Americans who were pissed that fivethirtyeight was “wrong” in 2016 (“she had a >50% chance of winning!”), it’s a major gap in key knowledge
