Mocking young operators who are writing sub-$25k angel checks doesn’t make you look as cool as you think it does

honestly curious: what would such a person have to do for you to take their $500 check?

we run a business in an incredibly weird space— so I put a lot of stock in the change in understanding between first and second meeting. If someone could leave that first meeting entirely confused, and enter the second knowing as much as we do, that’s an instant yes for any $

Would you say this skill of rapidly getting up to speed on the particulars of an industry (not necessarily one you're in) is one that a majority of founders would value in an angel investor (regardless of check size), or just you?

you definitely hear crazy stories of Lee Fixel and other generational investors being best at class at this. I don’t even think it’s getting up to speed on an industry, most of that is window dressing, but being able to get an intuitive understanding quickly to move into details

Got it. If you could name top 3 attributes or services that you personally want from angel investors funding you, what would those be? (If you could ask make the same top 3 list for the general case for what any founder wants from their investors, that's be cool too.)
