because english is my second language, i've sometimes really struggled with understanding american idioms but man, one of my favorites that has stuck with me is "one man's inflexible ownership criteria is another man's treasure"

sorry I believe they didn’t actually use an idiom but instead a ritual dance, very difficult but I’ll attempt to describe: ‘Verbally handshaking on a price and then waiting two weeks to issue a term sheet at a fifth of the price’ Very deep American tradition, thick culture
