if you claim to be "public about your mistakes and historically wrong predictions" and then signalboost only the least damning ones turns out you just look honest and right most of the time(tm)
also university professors that are even slightly critical of the university system themselves are for some reason given a huge amount of leeway, despite being massive complicit in it.
