I feel like there's a deadweight loss in the form of people default working for one company at a time. Feel like many high performers/high impact individuals could work for more than one company. This is moreso in the individual contributor path than any management related one

gonna take the opposite side of this. can barely manage context switching within one job and getting enough done to move the needle - i'm skeptical you can generate enough critical mass -> momentum if you're splitting time between two places
