you can really make a career out of joining the companies right on the right trajectory and just riding them out while stacking prestige. It's not like you're going to get fired It's not even that hard to figure out which companies to do this with.

It's just hard getting into them. It's either you're very skilled, go to a really good school, have great connections, or get lucky (doubt this one actually happens often)

I make a habit of trying to work with early SpaceX people cause we had a remarkable filter for competence. I find this non-existent in the general tech startup scene. It's depressing.
