I have now been on multiple Zoom calls in which the other person is sitting in a clean, zen apartment yet... something is off. Mid-call I realize: the direction of the light in the background is opposite to the aspect of the light on their face. The background is fake.
suggestion: take a nice photo of the backdrop behind your laptop on your phone, blur it slightly, set it as your zoom background.
