I figure there’s actually no disagreement here. Seems like it’s just about degree of closeness. Call friends unexpectedly, text acquaintances before hand, email anyone else
I call relative strangers often. Seems like people struggle with is the awkwardness of starting the call. I always just stumble through “hey sorry quick question” and have never had a bad responsible
