I have a lot of mixed feelings about lambda school, but the way Austen interacts with students in our slack channel is really, genuinely odd. https://t.co/KAaFpoWBN4

You don’t get my criticism of lambda or Austen’s attitude in the above messages?

My read is Austen treats Lambda students as employees instead of students. One thing if boss tells you to put head down, ignore ‘haters’, and power through to raise next round. Much different if an educator says that to you in light of critical flaws in education infrastructure.

I want to point out that there’s no “safe” place for upset students to vent. They have us submit our complaints on individual tickets, so we never know that there are many others who feel the same way. Plus so many are afraid to speak up.

You might find this Aaron swartz piece of the weaponizing of “feedback culture” highly resonant http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/visitingolin …
