No joke, I'm so glad that people are realizing this. The notion that these people are picking better startups from the same pool - which has been repeatedly been disproven by the basic statistics of venture - is silly

you mean they get picked by the best founders with options right?
less so founders picking-- more so newer funds will not even see many of the deals that will return funds for the old guard.

since you brought it up-- this older generation is also able to make stranger bets that might as well not even be the same asset class (30m+ seeds for M&A, etc.) because of access, in addition to of course risk tolerance
