My favorite story from teaching Excel was when we were approached to make an advanced class for a company's accounting department. "They've been using it for years. Really good. Just make them better..." I sat down and made up a custom 2 day workshop to teach them new tricks.

I'm not kidding you, they walked in with calculators. I tried to be optimistic, and get started anyway. They didn't know what a formula was.
