Difficulty depends on the drug and the more difficult it is, the manufacturing is outsourced. The bigger issue is raw material supplies. Most are locked up via contract to prevent competition. I worked in the market segment for 10 years

It's a cut throat business and most people have no clue what its really like. Selling technology is a walk in the park in comparison. It's also a penny profit business that requires scale.
