This is the coldest take-- 23andMe didn't build their empire on customers making an informed choice on low cost sequencing vs privacy, but instead customers not realizing the value of the data they are giving up. No different than facebook.

100%-- but how many consumers do you think realize the tremendous value and harm that could come from third party access to their genome? Facebook is more obviously harmful to the end user.
